Probably the realest political interview I've ever seen. I'm not bernie fan but I really appreciate hearing him speak like a normal person instead of what he's portrayed as in media and how he comes off in debates. He still doesn't have my vote but I think I understand him a lot better now

Why did so many people dislike this? I can't imagine what more you'd want from an rational and informative interview. I'm conservative, I don't like this dude, but I'd never dislike him speaking his mind.

In Sweden our Public Service television (SVT) had a similar problem with little debate time. So they gave each party in parlament (8 of them) a 1 hour program called "Speech to the nation". It was basically propaganda, but atleast everyone got a fair shot at saying what they wanted to say.

Instead of government negotiating with drug company's, wouldn't it help the market more if the FDA approved more generic drugs and allowed more competition? It seems like whenever government takes over the regulation and cost of things (student loans, medicare) prices just sky rocket but for things that the market controls like automobiles and cell phones, they all seem cheap and accessible enough for everyone and no one ever goes bankrupt paying off a car of a cell phone unless they were irresponsible.

if competition works that´s fine, since insulin for example costs 10 times as much as it does in canada, there is obviously price fixing going on and corruption in general. i mean in theory you have more competition than other countries with medicare for all or similar programms, you still have the highest prices though however. there is also a major difference between healthcare and mobile phones or cars. you don´t die if you can´t afford the newest phone or a car, you do die though if you can´t pay for your healthcare, which is why these things can´t be treated equally, apart from topics like overall costs, efficiency etc.

im not very smart but even i know taxing the rich even more isnt going to pay for everything bernie is purposing. Even if the 1% paid double what they pay now, it would take a decade just to cover the expenses bernie wants to do and thats if everything runs smoothly. There are so many variables that are play and i dont think what he is purposing is going to fix any of it. He does bring a lot of issues into light though, i cant help but agree with a lot of things he says. Just his plan isnt that great and socialism isnt the way to do it. If he does win, i hope he keeps his word and does everything he said hes going to do and i hope that as a country we will succeed. Times are scary right now.

I can't believe how disingenuous Bernie is on gun control here, shame because i like his other policies. 90% of mass shootings happen with a handgun not an "assault weapon", and 90% are related to gang activity. A mass shooting as a legal term is simply a shooting where more than 4 people are involved, it doesn't have to be a lone crazed gunman as everyone imagines.

Assault weapons are already illegal, an assault weapon is a weapon with automatic fire, which you cannot buy at a gunshop or gunshow. By the way all gunshows require background checks, i cannot believe he still is this dishonest. Even police dont use assault weapons, they use AR-15s which is not an assault weapon. The SWAT teams however use sub machine guns which is an assault weapon. Assault weapons are already illegal.

@Hazardeur Hillary lost to Trump in 2016. Bernie got screwed by the DNC as the nominee because they favored Hillary. Bernie would destroy Trump in the general election, the challenge for him is winning the primary.

@SketchyHippopotamus I'm trying to say that the fact that this guy lost to Trump is something I can't understand. He would be better in about every presidential discipline and actually cares for your country and not his bank account. That's why I hope that he will win the next election. However, it's still the same voters that voted Trump in not too long ago so my hopes are kinda dampened

@Adam Nixdorf scandinavia espescially but most other european countries disagree with your statement about socialism, social democrazy etc. it is sustainable longterm, it´s better for the society as a whole. what did trump make better for you personally? i do believe he is highly corrupt, obama, bush, clinton have been aswell though. i totally understand your doubts about government in general, even the good working social democracies in europe do have corruption to some degree and it´s been worse in the united states with a lot worse consequences for the working class. being so used to that reality it´s probably tough to trust someone promising as much as sanders does. he´d be deserving of it more than most, though :) feelthebern.org/bernie-sanders-on-gun-policy/ here is his stance on guns in more detail if you´re interested.

    • Adam Nixdorf

      Adam Nixdorf

There’s also no way I could support his stance on guns. You do not want to give more power or control to the government, even if they’re “good”, because inevitably there is corruption.

zefix1234 I’d rather have President Trump. Everyone doubts him, Hated him, and tries to Fuck him over and he is still pushing forward and making things better. Literally couldn’t pay me enough to vote for a socialist. It all sounds good, but it’s not sustainable long term. That, and I’m not ok with taking other people’s money and property, which he and his supporters are.

a government that is doing its job well isn´t evil though, its empowering people. and since he actually isn´t corrupt and actually cares for people he might just be able to do that.

This was a reply to a comment but youtube didn't let me reply - I don't know why. Do not confuse your freedom to serve the pharmaceutical companies, the military industrial complex and other industry lobbies who control your government as real freedom. Freem is also freedom from poverty, freedom from exploitation and abuse by those who have power and who use it to exploit the people.

How this man is still not the US president and world leader is mind boggling. He is a smart, caring and thoughtful person and, I believe, would make a great president, maybe the greatest in the last 50 years! And the world needs, more than ever, a great US president! America has a second chance to do the right thing and elect a man who will try his best to improve ordinary people's lives and who will also lead the world into the path it needs to follow in order to secure our mutual survival! Please don't let us down again, or more countries will turn to Russia and China for leadership, and that will be a worldwide catastrophe!

I'm pausing to make a comment. Now I live in Mississippi where gun laws are not as strict as other areas. However I've never been to a gun show where I can walk in and just buy a gun with no background check. What I can do is go there and if someone is outside the gun show (private sell just like a car between to people) there may be some guy there who isn't a dealer just your Joe blow trying to sell his firearm to someone. Yes at that point there is no background check however once you go to a gun dealer to have the firearm removed from the sellers name and put on the buyers name and you feel out some paper work and if memory serves me correct a background check is done? The part where Bernie says about a guy that goes in and buys a bunch of guns then sells them to someone who is going to do illegal things with them well that is already against the law. Its called a straw man purchase. Lets say me and Mary are friends and Mary wants a gun but can't afford one or buy one for other reasons. So I take her to a gun store or show and she picks one age like and I fill the paper work out and buy it and then hand it to her then I'm doing a straw man purchas which if the seller finds out most likely won't sell the gun to me.
